Oh religion. Why is the “purest form of love and acceptance” at the root of all evil. Evil in judging someone on their faith. Evil in those who are being judged claiming they know the “truth”. No, I don’t believe either of those sentiments are correct. It just proliferates peoples distaste for organized religion with those viewpoints. People are not afraid of your love or ideals; I believe they may have a bad outlook on religion. Some people don’t believe, but they have met many a folk quick to judge them for that “in the name of god”. They probably have been told, “you are going to hell because you don’t believe what I believe.” The problem is the utter grandiloquence many of those ascertain. Coming from a staunch roman catholic family and I, being the atheist from day one using logic to rule my beliefs but now, a spiritual one with roots in buddhism, understand how both sides react and feel. Bottom line: No one is right, if everybody is wrong. Love is love. Use it correctly; don’t abuse it. Love means no judging. So I am not wrong or “afraid” because I don’t have the same beliefs as you. If I were to say that, then I’d be no better than those who claim hierarchy in their religion or choose ignorance in their decision to become hostile.
Truth is a far to broad term for ANYONE to define. It cannot ever be used “truthfully”. Everyones truth is defined differently. I just ask that one not be so quick to claim “truth” over another and our tolerance would be in abundance. Acceptance, Compassion and Tolerance. ACT out of love, live peacefully.
